What is Honey?

Honey (I shrunk the AI) is our product line of tools for cutting the waste out of the AI setup you already have. It is not a new model, and not another platform to learn. Honey slots into what you use today and makes it leaner.

The rule Honey enforces is simple: write the minimum code that needs to exist, and say it in fewer words without quality loss.

First out: Honey for Mac

Honey for Mac is a free menu-bar app for developers. Install it, and it wires itself into the agents you already run: Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Gemini CLI, GitHub Copilot, Windsurf, and Cline. One toggle per tool, no configuration.

Pick an intensity per session (lite, full, or ultra) and Honey applies it across every connected tool, with an optional statusline badge showing it is on.

Does trimming hurt quality?

We benchmarked it before shipping:

• 39% fewer output tokens on coding tasks
• 53% less code, at a 100% test pass rate

On user-facing work like landing pages, output stayed the same and blind judges actually preferred the Honey version. Safety-critical code like auth, validation, and error handling is never trimmed.

Everything runs locally. A ledger tracks every session and translates saved tokens into grams of CO2 and euros, using EcoLogits, the open standard for AI footprint estimation. Everything stays on your Mac.
