Using Brainstormer
Choose a brainstorming technique, supply context and explore the resulting ideas in a mind map.
Open Brainstormer from the Apps catalogue.
Brainstormer develops ideas around a challenge. A useful starting question names the audience, desired outcome and practical limits.
Build the brief
- Enter your challenge. For example: “How can a small Repair Café attract neighbours and make first-time visitors feel welcome?”
- Choose a technique, such as Free Brainstorm.
- Answer the guided questions about scope, priorities, audience and barriers.
- Choose Something else when the offered answers do not fit, and provide your own context.
- Review the brief and choose Start brainstorming when it is ready.
If the app keeps asking questions after you have supplied enough context, explain what is already known and ask it to proceed. Do not invent answers just to complete the questionnaire.
Explore the map
Use Fit view to see the complete mind map, zoom to read individual ideas and drag the canvas to explore another branch. Compare the suggestions with your constraints, then choose a small set to develop further.
Ideas are starting points, not evidence that an approach will work. Use SWOT Analysis to examine a chosen direction, or Writing Coach to turn it into a draft.
