Open Vision from the Apps catalogue.

Vision helps describe images, extract visible text and draft alt text. The video creates a concise event-listing description from a fictional poster.

Analyse an image

  1. Choose Browse files or drop an image into the upload area.
  2. Check the formats and size limit displayed there, and wait for image classification.
  3. Choose a task such as Summarize content, Extract text or Write alt text. The available choices can depend on the image type.
  4. Add context, such as where the alt text will be used and which details matter.
  5. Choose Send to run the task. Selecting the task alone does not submit it.
  6. Compare the result with the image and correct any missed or misread details before using it.

Write useful alt text

Describe the information the image contributes in its intended context. Ask for a concise result, but retain essential details that are not already in nearby text. Check small print, dates and numbers yourself.

If an image is too blurry to read, use a clearer source. For a conversation about a picture, see Asking Chat about images. For a structured document summary, use Doc Analyser.
