GreenPT Chat
Creating and testing a skill
Write reusable instructions, test a realistic prompt, refine the result and save the skill for use in Chat.
Open the Skills library when you want GreenPT to repeat a particular way of working. The video creates a short event-invitation skill using fictional details.
Write the skill
- Choose New skill.
- Enter a name using letters, numbers, hyphens or underscores, such as
event-invitation. - Describe When should GreenPT use it? State the situation that calls for the skill.
- Write Instructions covering the task, output structure, tone and boundaries.
For example: “Write a warm invitation in British English, under 60 words. Use only supplied facts. Keep dates, times, venue and costs exact. Do not add refreshments, activities or promises.”
Test and refine
Under Try it before saving, enter an example and choose Run test. Read the answer for omissions and invented details. In the video, the first test invents refreshments. The instructions are tightened and tested again.
Test runs are temporary and are not saved as chats. If a test fails, read its error before retrying; do not treat an empty result as a successful test.
Save and use it
Choose Create skill and keep Enabled on if you want it available in Chat. Follow Using skills in Chat to select it through / or Add to chat → Skills. Reopen the library to edit and test it when your requirements change.

Open Skills and choose New skill. Name the skill, describe when to use it and write clear instructions. Enter a realistic example and choose Run test. Review the test: this answer added refreshments that were not supplied. Tighten the instructions and run the test again. Check that the new answer follows the brief. Choose Create skill. Keep it enabled to select it in Chat.
